Shape the Freedom of Space with Geometric Light and Shadow

BDSD Boundless Design centers its approach around the concepts of “Geometry and Light” and “Free Construction” to create a whole-home customization showroom for LTOO at a street corner in Huizhou. Moving beyond traditional display logic, the design treats the space as an integrated vessel that blends brand spirit, living scenarios, and architectural aesthetics. Through precise spatial strategies and delicate light treatment, it constructs a contemporary living sample that combines rational order with humanistic poetry.
Spatial Freedom in Dialogue with Architecture
Starting from the urban interface, the project employs simple geometric volumes and horizontal window bands to harmonize the building with the neighborhood, while the corner is accentuated to form a visual anchor. An L-shaped screen with mortise and tenon structure at the entrance modulates light and sightlines, connecting Eastern construction wisdom with modernist form, establishing an inner quality that is fluid, open, and rhythmic.
Structural Reconstruction: Turning Function into Aesthetics
The staircase is relocated beneath a vertical window, transforming into a three-dimensional sculpture that interacts with light. A pure white half-wall conceals the base of the steps, while light traces geometric shadows that change with time. A full-height white column and concrete crossbeam provide stable order, reinforcing the construction logic across both floors while lending visual solidity and strength.
Free Plan and Scenic Integration
The ground floor follows the principle of a free plan, with the living area, kitchen cabinet zone, and walk-in closet forming an open whole, softly defined by custom furniture. The feature wall system participates directly in the spatial construction as an architectural element, embodying the idea of “customization as architecture.” A integrated cat house and seating unit, combined with cabinets featuring various opening mechanisms, allow products to be presented naturally within living scenarios. A touch of vibrant red punctuates the rational tone, infusing emotional warmth and responding to the complex demands of contemporary life.
Narrative of Light and Material Expression
Natural light is guided in through horizontal and vertical windows, becoming a key shaper of the space. In the material display area, light diffuses across material surfaces, highlighting texture and color; a linear light runs from ceiling to floor like a sculpture, intersecting with beams to create a rhythm of light and shadow. The tea room is positioned in the optimal light, its structure extending from the crossbeam, with a sliding art door adapting to different scenarios. The study is ultimate simplicity, with functions concealed to foster a focused atmosphere. Light and shadow not only reinforce spatial logic but also provide an immersive emotional experience.
Through rigorous modular control, clear structural strategy, and refined light design, this project achieves a high degree of integration between product and architectural space. The design not only demonstrates the brand’s comprehensive capability but also constructs an experiential place that inspires imagination and accommodates daily life. It establishes a sustainable dialogue among commerce, aesthetics, and living, interpreting the emotional warmth and aesthetic value that commercial space can carry.
